On June 9th 2010, fourteen men stormed the only high security shelter for women escaping violence in Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua State, Mexico. Six men were armed, and all used threats of physical violence towards shelter staff and residents in order to gain access to the shelter. Worse off, the state authorized the use of force in an official government letter. Equality and human rights groups are presently calling for an investigation and subsequent disciplinary action.
